Coming To Scotland? It Would Be A Crime Not To See Part Of The Highlands...
The Adventure Day is just that, a day of adventure with extreme sports. Scotland has some of the best rivers and gorges to test your mettle...
Adventure Day for Stag and Hen Weekends in Scotland
We'll arrange for the adventure bus to meet you and take you over the Forth Road Bridge and North towards the Highlands of Scotland.
In the morning you will be dropped off at the meeting point to start your morning of adventure on one of Scotland's best rivers for White Water Rafting.
The rivers are weather dependant so you will always raft on the best river for the time of year. You'll be provided with all the equipment and safety training to ensure you have a fun and safe trip down the river.
You don't need any rafting experience as you will be taught everything you need to know. Most people love it so much, they want to do it again on bigger and faster water.
Afternoon Adventure
Once you've dried yourself off and grabbed a bite to eat then your off to do your afternoon activity. You can choose from the following activities, these must be pre booked as they can't be chosen on the day.
These are small rafts you can either do what they call Duckies which are 2 person rafts and your guide is beside you in a canoe or you can do the smaller rafts which hold 4 people and the guide. Both are great fun and allow you to feel more of the white water rappids, it also allows you to go down parts of rivers that the bigger rafts can't.
Learn how to shoot moving targets, it's a great test to see who has the best reflexes. You will be given all the equipment and safety briefing required to make sure you have a safe and pleasurable shooting experience. On average you will shoot around 25 clays using different types of targets. If there is time you'll also may be able to have a wee competition. Typically you will be split into groups of 5 on different traps each group with a member of staff, this will mean you'll get the best advice on how toshoot correctly.
Paintballing
Paintballing in Perthshire is great fun, the site is perfect for an afternoon of paintballing games. The site offers lots of short games, with different gaming scenarios which means everyone will have plenty of time to get good at shooting. Working as a team willcertainly help you win the games.
How to make your legs wobble, depending on the experience of the group you will be given all the safety instructions on how to climb and descend a cliff face. Walking backward off a cliff is always guaranteed to get the blood pumping. Walking forward off a cliff is guaranteed to freeze it.
Often described as going down a river in an arm chair does not really give it the right image. This is great fun and more so because it is just you in the raft. You are supplied with hand and feet flippers, and guided down the rapids. Great fun and worth a try if you've never done it before.
To truly get a feel for the highland games you've got to try it at 1st hand, and what's better than trying to Toss the Caber. You'll have several games to complete scoring points on results. You can play as a team (Clan) or as individuals. The winner at the end receives a bottle of whisky.
April through to September Only
Cliff Jumping
So the trick to cliff jumping is not to think, you'll have an experienced guide who will train you on the correct way to jump into the pool safely from the cliffs. You will usually be jumping beside waterfall as these tend to be where the natural deep pools are. You will not be pushed or forced to do any jumps you don't want to. However it is a fantastic rush to do. The highest cliff jump tends to be no more than 60 feet, but its totally up to you how high you want to jump.
Canyoning is a mixture of cliff jumping and gorge walking. Expect to jump off cliffs into deep rock pools, swim across water filled gorges, scramble up rocks and small water falls and slide down rock chutes. Its a great afternoon of adventure and you'll talk about it for weeks to com.
Back On The Adventure BusThen it's back onto the adventure bus to Edinburgh. We aim for the bus to be back for about 5:30pm.
